UHAA 2026 SCHOLARSHIPS

The United Hmong American Association (UHAA) Scholarship is a local scholarship established to assist students in their initial pursuit or continuous pursuit of higher education. The purpose of these scholarships is to contribute to the academic development of youth. Our vision is to empower any youth to become a successful, contributing member of their community.

Basic Eligibility:

The criteria for eligibility includes:

  • Must be a resident of Wisconsin
  • At the time of application: must be accepted and/or currently enrolled in an accredited college/university

Award:

Award – UHAA is offering a total of 14 scholarships within five different scholarship categories for undergraduate and graduate students:

Students in their 1st, 2nd or 3rd year of undergraduate

Graduating undergraduate students already accepted into Graduate school or a continuing graduate student enrolled in an accredited public or private college/university

Application materials will not be returned to the applicant once submitted.

Any students pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree
$1,000
One (1) renewable
Graduating high school senior with a GPA of at least 3.8 and already accepted as a student to a technical school, university or private college

*Must continue to provide proof of enrollment and grade transcript at the end of Year 1, 2, and 3 in order for disbursement of scholarship fund
$1,000 per year, up to 4 years ($4,000)

*Students may apply for all five scholarships if they meet the requirements. For example, a graduating high school senior may apply for the UHAA High School Senior Scholarship, Waseng Yang Legacy Scholarship and the Bouwer Family Foundation High Achieving Scholarship.

Timeline:

The application window opens February 1, 2026 – 12:00 AM CT. The application deadline is March 6, 2026 – 11:59 PM CT. Recipients will be notified by March 20, 2026. All scholarship recipients are required to attend the UHAA Banquet on Saturday, April 25, 2026 in order to receive the award. The Banquet date may change and recipients will be notified if the date is to change.
